A customer interstate has just had her fifth child - a second daughter. I have been making clothes for her children since the christening of her first child. We have very similar taste; so I'm always happy to make special orders for her, as they are items I would choose for my own children.
She asked for some coordinating bloomers to go with the bodysuits. I thought this was such a lovely idea, that I will be making two of each - one for Miss S and one for our bub-to-be.
Rather than hemming the legs with plain elastic, I prefer a rolled hem with shirred elastic for the gathering. I think it's much sweeter and softer.
The lovely thing about these bloomers is that they don't require much fabric, so I'm raiding my stash for all the pretty scraps.

Soon you will be adding bloomers to your summer range, to match all of your dresses.
My girlfriend lived in the US and used to buy my girls clothes all the time. All of the dresses had matching bloomers, which for us in Australia is so unique. It is such a lovely idea and I made a few plainer ones to go under their dresses that didn't matching pants.

I've used bloomers for all my babies but especially the summer ones, so easy to pull on with a bodysuit or swing top for little girls. My last son had gorgeous bluey grey liberty ones that I adored. Yours are beautiful.

Isn't it nice when someone sparks your interest and you go with it for yourself or your family too! I used to make "special" cakes etc... for church events. Then I thought, no sense just making one, my family deserves one too! So I started making two! That way my family knew that they were/are special too!
They turned out cute! But then what else did we expect? Of course they did!
Have a great day!

A very belated congratulations on your pregnancy! I've been reading my bloglines at the speed of light recently and haven't had much time to comment. The news about your little-girl-to-be is just fabulous.... I love the things you've been making. What a lucky little one....

I'm in awe of your productivity - add to the fact that you're pregnant and already have 3 boys - well, ahem, I should stop complaining!

oh those bloomers are so adorable! I'm a huge believer in bloomers under little dresses otherwise everyone gets a peek at a not so pretty disposable nappy!!!!
