The massive laundry project continues today. Thank goodness it's a heavenly autumn day here and I can dry all the washing outside.
In between all the unpacking, laundry, and sewing nametags on winter uniforms, yesterday I managed a quick sewing project with scraps from my tide pool quilt. The quilt has not progressed at all, but these scraps were put to use for a little hot water bottle cover. I love sewing these hottie covers. They are quick, don't use much fabric and are a good creative outlet. If I have the inclination to make a few more, I might list them on my website for winter.
More creative spaces at Kootoyou.

I always love patterned cotton teamed with linen like this. Such a fresh, natural look. Cherrie

Lovely. You always amaze me by finding little windows for sewing amidst busy days!
Good luck with the laundry

Your hottie cover is beautiful! I love the colour combo! Lucky you to get your washing dry - mine is on the line under a tent fly! lol Where do you source your linnen from. I have been wanting (desperately) to get some for a while now - but have yet to find something that just looks right.
Happy weekend! :)

I love the hot water bottle cover! The colours are lovely and I love the textural contrast of the linen against the cotton - just beautiful!

Hot water bottle covers would be fantastic in winter. Another idea of what came to mind, which you would be great at, is pinboards in a liberty print fabric with ribbons criss crossed over and with buttons sewn on the fabric. I saw one recently but was not done in good taste and I thought you could create beautiful pinboards for a little or big girls bedroom!!!! Not sure how much work is involved but my girls think you should make them!!
