On a grey day
Saturday, June 06, 2009
One of the benefits of a new baby is getting to explore my local neighbourhood on foot. Ordinarily I don't take the time to get out and about unless I'm racing to get somewhere, but when there is a young baby to be settled, a walk with the pram with no fixed destination is the best solution.
Today's weather is rather grey and wintery. Coming across this shop a few blocks from home brightened my day.
How could it not? And while I was there I picked up some of my favourite chocolate treats.
As the name of the store suggests, these really are the best.
Oh dear, the site is so tempting!! This makes me want to get back to Melbourne as soon as possible!!! But then again a trip to Italy is a lot closer to me for finding "il migliori"!!!!

Oh my goodness, that shop looks like a little bit of heaven. And everything is presented so beautifully. Now I'm wishing I was in Melbourne, or at least within delivery range!

ohhh yum! I could lose myself (and my diet) in that store. They make a beautiful choc coated almond brittle that I'd buy in port melbourne when we lived there....oh my goodness it was so good and I'd have to hide it from my lovely husband or he'd eat it in one go. lucky you!

Hi Kris
I found these products when we were in Canberra once - For those close to Canberra you can buy some of the range at Manuka Fine Foods. I liked the chocolate dipped apricot and walnut biscotti so much I kept the packet and asked my favourire deli if they could get some in. So for those people in Sydney you can buy some of the products at Cucina Visconti at the Waterfront (Homebush Bay). I haven't seen the products anywhere else up this way (yet).
Kris is correct the chocolate dipped oranges are superb - we had some after dinner on Saturday night.
We are heading down to Melbourne in the July school holidays so I think a trip to the store is going to be a must for me.

The Rocky Road looks absolutely scrumptious, will ring the Melbourne store to see if any stores on the Sydney's North Shore stock them.
