Ocean waves lap quilt
Saturday, June 01, 2013
This very rainy Saturday has provided the perfect opportunity to baste this ocean waves quilt.
It's only 48 blocks. I wanted a size that would be just right for a child to snuggle under on the sofa. This will go with us to the snow for the upcoming season. Which means I have only this month to get it quilted. For the first time in ages I'm going to hand quilt a quilt. So I'd better get my skates on.
I'm kind of liking these moody, wintery greys.
It's a gorgeous quilt Kristine!Love the colours you've chosen and the actual pattern. Good luck with the hand quilting! I'd love to the quilt when it's all finished :) Please share with us!

Beautiful quilt...I was basting today too - finally cracking on with a Juliette's quilt I started six months ago! Not as precise as your design, but I think it will still look lovely and welcoming on a little girl's bed! congrats on your house. Looks lovely:)

Oh so lovely...the moody wintery colours are indeed alluring. I do with I had a quilting bone in my body...is it enough that I greatly admire them? I do hope so!

What a beautiful quilt. I love the colours.
We had a very wet day in Adelaide too. I spent alot of time in the kitchen, but you have inspired me to get out Annabel's quilt which I haven't touched since Uni started in march.
Thanks for your recommendation, we are very happy with our new chairs from Dare Gallery.
Enjoy the rest of the weekend.

Hi Kristine, I love the quilt both the colours & the pattern (wish I had the patience for quilting). The rain moved on to Sydney today, we got soaked this morning running from car to the pool, winter has arrived!! We are also preparing for our annual trip to the snow (we're there in a couple of weeks during school holidays), today we also went & bought the kids their new ski gear for the season, both are pretty much wearing the same size despite their 20mth age gap, so now handy me downs for Jack from Luke. All the best.

What a beautiful quilt, I love the greys and the pattern is lovely.
We're just coming into summer, lovely day today but I don't know how long it will last. It seems to have been winter for ages here.
